「味わいのある生地」の可能性をさらに広げていく
1990年代後期、私たちがDKブランドのタグをつけて初めて世に送り出した
『ヴィンテージ』シリーズは、ファッションデザイナーたちの想像力をするどく刺激しました。
新品ながら、まるでヴィンテージ物のような一点物の風合いをもった生地。
それは機械によって大量生産される生地と比べ、明らかに繊細で生産性が低い ─ 私たちは製造上の困難にも敢えて向き合い、遠州浜松の熟練の職人たちと共に、オンリーワンにこだわる気鋭のアパレルメーカーのニーズに応えてきました。
「私たちしかつくることのできない生地を届けたい」という信念が、これを支えてくれたのです。
時を経て、2003年。
DKブランドの新たなチャレンジは、ヴィンテージが切り開いた「味わいのある生地」の可能性をさらに広げていくことでした。
ヴィンテージを開発した頃から変わることのない信念のもと、また新たなニーズと真剣に向き合い、そして誕生したシリーズが『ddw®』です。
Despite being new products, these fabrics possess the feel of a one-of-a-kind vintage item.
Compared with fabrics mass-produced by machines, handmade fabrics have the issue of being much more delicate and less practical, but we faced this problem head on, and worked with expert craftsmen from Enshu Hamamatsu to produce fabric that met the needs of a rising apparel company that was picky about making unique products.
“We want to provide them with a fabric that only we can make.” This belief helped support us in this goal.
Several years later, in 2003.
The latest challenge for the DK brand was expanding the possibilities afforded by the "charming fabrics" pioneered by Vintage.
Our strong belief hadn’t changed since we developed Vintage, and we dedicated ourselves to filling this need; the series we produced as a result was called "ddw®."
シリーズの特徴
着続けることの楽しさ
ddw®シリーズは、生機（キバタ）の状態から特殊なダメージを生地に加え、同時に染めを施す「ダメージダイド＆ウォッシュ加工」を用いて製造されます。
プリントでは決して再現することができない偶然性の高い「染め感」と「風合い」を持ち合わせ、さらにウォッシュアウトするたびに表情を変えていくことも特徴のひとつです。
同じ表情はこの世に二つとないという偶然性、そして三次元にした際に「深みのある形」が作れることが、世界中のデザイナーから愛される理由のひとつかもしれません。
ヴィンテージが厚手を活かしてパンツ地中心に用いられることに対し、ddw®は羽織物にも対応できる「しなやかさ」を備えています。
着れば着るほどに味わいが深まり、着る人の暮らしかた、人の波動が生地の面に現れる。
だからこそ、ddw®で作られた衣服を身にまとえば「着続けることの楽しさ」を感じることができることでしょう。
This brand has a highly randomized dyed feel and texture that can’t be replicated through printing, and will also change its appearance every time it is washed out.
The fact that you can use it to produce something that feels completely unique, and that it has a sense of depth when made into a 3D product, might be part of the reason why it’s beloved by designers the world over.
In contrast to Vintage, which is often used in underwear for its thickness, ddw® has a flexibility that is well suited to jackets and tops.
The more you wear it, the more its charm deepens, and the lifestyle of the wearer is reflected in the fabric’s surface. When you wear clothes made with ddw®, you can truly feel the joy of continuing to wear them.

天日乾燥した綿麻生地 無地染め
Main Product 1: Sun Dried Cotton/Hemp Blend Fabric (Plain Dyed)趣きのある天然素材。綿と麻の混紡糸を使った平織タイプ。
打ち込みのある目の詰まった生地はウェザークロスともいい、ハリとコシがあるしっかりした風合いが特長です。
麻がブレンドされているので、麻かすが程よく生地面に現れ、ムラ感のある独特な色合いと相まって、味のある独創的な雰囲気を醸し出しています。An elegant natural material. It’s a plain weave fabric made with a blend of cotton and hemp.
This tightly woven fabric is characterized by its resilience, strength, and nice texture.
There is hemp blended into it, so some hemp strands appear on the surface, which gives the fabric a unique, uneven coloration, and produces an interesting feel. -
オリジナル麻100％ 無地染め
Main Product 2: 100% Original Hemp (Plain Dyed)タテに1/40番手ラミー、ヨコに1/40番手のリネン糸を交織した平織生地。
強度のあるラミーをタテ糸に、繊細なリネンをヨコ糸に使うことにより、密度のあるしっかりとしたキメと、適度なハリをもたせたしなやかな生地に仕上げました。
その生地を手ぬぐいや風呂敷を手掛けた浜松の染色職人が昔ながらの製法で時間をかけ、丁寧に染め上げた独特の色合い。This plain weave fabric is made using a mixed weave of 1/40 ramie fabric for the vertical threads, and 1/40 linen for the horizontal.
By using the strong ramie for the vertical portion and the delicate linen for the horizontal, the resulting fabric becomes dense, resilient, and flexible.
Then, Hamamatsu’s dyeing experts, who have worked on hand towels and wrapping cloths, painstakingly dye it using traditional methods to create a unique coloration.
